Nancy Marie Teresa Borgelt Fortman

   COLUMBUS GROVE - Nancy Marie Teresa Borgelt Fortman, 65, of Columbus Grove died 5:14 a.m. Saturday, June 10, 2023, at her residence.  She was born August 9, 1957, in Lima to the late Arnold H. and Teresa (Maag) Borgelt.  Her father is deceased, and her mother survives in Glandorf.  On June 23, 1979, she married Jeffrey G. Fortman, who survives in Columbus Grove. 

   Also surviving are 3 children:  Andrea (Mark) bishop of Pataskala, Michael Fortman of Findlay and Evan (Elizabeth) Fortman of Cairo; 6 grandchildren:  Alexa Fortman, Ethan Bishop, Oliver Bishop, Leah Fortman, Dean Fortman and Adeline Fortman; and her siblings:  Jane Borgelt, Gregory (Alice) Borgelt, Shirley (David) Siefker and Amy (Jerry) Recker; and a brother-in-law:  Randy Ellerbrock.

   Nancy is preceded in death by a sister:  Elaine Ellerbrock; maternal grandparents:  Albert and Stella (Kaufman) Maag and paternal grandparents:  Albert and Clara (Meyer) Borgelt.

   Nancy retired after 35 years as a teacher with Miller City-New Cleveland Local Schools.  She was a graduate of Ottawa-Glandorf High School and attended both Bowling Green State University and Wright State University.

   She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Columbus Grove.  She was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society-Beta Eta chapter of several years.  She loved decorating for holidays and enjoyed music and photography.

   Nancy’s memorial mass will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 15, 2023 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Columbus Grove with Father David Ritchie officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and again Thursday from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. at the HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Columbus Grove.

   Memorial contributions may be made to Putnam County CAP or St. Jude.
