February 22, 1943 ~ February 18, 2022 (age 78) 78 Years Old
COLUMBUS GROVE - George H. Ellerbrock died 1:46 p.m. Friday, February 18, 2022 at Mercy Health St. Rita's Medical Center. He was born February 22, 1943 in Kalida to the late Alfred and Marcella (Hermiller) Ellerbrock. On September 7, 1968 he married Marilyn D. Inkrott, who survives in Columbus Grove.
Also surviving are 5 children: David M. (Cheryl) Ellerbrock of Columbus Grove, Lynette S. (Shane) Ellerbrock-Bendele of Ostrander, Matthew Ellerbrock of Bluffton, Lori A. (Daniel) Staley of Columbus Grove and Jared J. (Gayle) Ellerbrock of Dublin; 17 grandchildren; 4 Great-grandchildren; 10 brothers and sisters: Joann (Gene) Otto of Ottawa, Marilyn Sealts of Fort Jennings, Donald (Janet) Ellerbrock of Columbus Grove, Thomas (Ruth) Ellerbrock of Columbus Grove, Eugene (Marge) Ellerbrock of Kalida, Janice (Sam) Golden of Lima, Dennis (Karen) Ellerbrock of Kalida, Christine (Dennis) Horstman of Cloverdale, Jerry Ellerbrock of Kalida and Mike (Barb Niese) Ellerbrock of Kalida; 3 sisters-in-law: Ann (Norm) Liebrecht of Continental, Ruth (Dale) Gerding of Glandorf, Marlene Inkrott of Leipsic; 3 brothers-in-law: Tom (Mary Ann) Inkrott of Leipsic, Norm (Wilma) Inkrott of Leipsic and Don (Elaine) Inkrott of Glandorf; and his faithful and beloved dog, Peanut.
George is preceded in death by a grandson: William Ellerbrock and 2 brothers-in-law: Ted Sealts and Jerry Inkrott.
George was a retired meat cutter and was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Columbus Grove. He was a 4th Degree member of the Columbus Grove K. of C. and a member of the Columbus Grove American Legion.
He enjoyed gardening and farming, especially with his antique John Deere tractor. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren and attending their many activities.
The funeral mass for George will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 24, 2022 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Columbus Grove with Father David Ritchie officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9 to 10 a.m. at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Columbus Grove. There will be a K. of C. rosary service 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
