Daniel Thomas Kleman

   COLUMBUS GROVE – Daniel Thomas Kleman, 60, of Columbus Grove gained his eternal reward on December 25, 2021, surrounded by his family. Dan was born to Earl and Jane (Siefker) Kleman on June 24, 1961.  His father preceded him in death and his mother survives in Kalida. 

   Dan married Rene Buettner on May 16, 1987, who survives in Columbus Grove.  Also surviving are their children:  Dana Kleman (Zach Williams), Dylan (Brooke) Kleman and Deanna (Blake) Hoffman; two granddaughters:  Chloe Williams and Molly Kleman; siblings:  Gary (Ann) Kleman of Kalida, Cindy (Mike) Stechschulte of Kalida, Tony (Sheila) Kleman of Findlay, Dave (Lisa) Kleman of Glandorf and Jen (Matt) Schnipke of Ottoville; Godchildren:  Ryan Kleman and Megan Schnipke;  Father-in-law and Mother-in-law:  Tom (Irma) Buettner of Delphos; In-laws:  Tom (Deb) Buettner of Delphos, Deb (Denny) Siefker of Columbus Grove, Jim (Laura) Buettner of Fort Jennings, Kevin (Denise) Buettner of Delphos, and Keith (Kathy) Buettner of Delphos; and many nieces and nephews, who all held a special place in his heart.

   Dan graduated in the class of 1979 from Kalida High School.  He worked for Unverferth Manufacturing for more than 20 years.  He was currently in his 22nd year at Ford Motor Company, Lima Engine Plant.  He was a member of the UAW Local 1219.  He enjoyed going to car shows, especially Pioneer Days, loved the Bourbon Trail, and loved anything that involved being with his family.

   Dad was the always the quietest man in the room, but could make everyone laugh.  He believed in hard work and everything he did was to better his family.  He enjoyed taking walks with his dog, Beau and going on golf cart rides.  He had a strong faith and was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Columbus Grove. 

   The funeral mass will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 30, 2021 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Columbus Grove with Father David Ritchie officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and again from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Columbus Grove where a rosary service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
