James “Jim” King
COLUMBUS GROVE – James “Jim” King, 82, of Columbus Grove passed away at 6:32 a.m. on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at OSU Wexner Medical Center, Columbus. He was born December 9, 1940, in Bluffton to the late Ellis and Louise (Bowers) King. On February 27, 1959, he married Mary E. Williams, who survives in Columbus Grove.
Jim is also survived by two sons: Tim King of Ottawa, and Troy (Sherry) King of Columbus Grove; six cherished grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Peg (Larry) Shepler and Cheryl Auchmuty, both of Columbus Grove.
He is also preceded in death by a loving stepfather: George Wreede.
Jim was a 1958 Columbus Grove High School Graduate He was a semi-retired machinist at Gasdorf, Lima, where he had worked for 43 years. He had also worked at Scot Lad for a time. Jim was an avid sports fan of Columbus Grove High School, OSU, and the Cleveland pro-teams. He was very active with area softball teams in their heyday. Jim also loved bowling.
A Celebration of Life will begin at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Columbus Grove. A private burial will be held at a later date. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
